Why ticket sales instead of reservations?
There are a few reasons we decided to go with tickets for this event;
Ingredients are being brought in specifically for this event. We have to know how much to purchase. Also, some of the exotic ingredients are available in limited quantities and therefore more expensive. The bottom line is, we need to know in advance exactly how many are coming.
Besides the food, what’s include in the ticket price?
The tickets you purchase are for the tasting menu only. If you would like beverages selected to complement and enhance each course, it’s $20 per person.
Will I owe anything at the end of the meal?
You will be presented with a bill showing the full amount owed, including the cost of the meal, any additional purchases (cocktails, etc.), sales tax, less your ticket purchase. You can add a gratuity at payment time.
Why should I consider the beverage pairings?
Some beverages, like hard alcohol cocktails, tend to deaden the palate and will make it difficult to pick up subtle flavors. Drinks like beer and wine, when properly paired with the food, can help you get more from the experience of a meal thoughtfully put together.
What’s a “Truffle”? What are “Ramps”? What’s a “Basil Financier”?
Those are all ingredients in different courses in the meal…and they are delicious! If you don’t know what some of the ingredients are, may I recommend a google search? It would just take up too much room here to define them all.
What if there is something I’d rather not eat?
Whether it’s an allergy, taste preference, texture preference, or you’re full, you don’t have to eat anything you don’t want. An empty plate is the best compliment you can give a chef, but you should know they don’t take it personally if you don't eat something.
Can you make any substitutions or special requests?
Sorry, because we are serving up to 40 people at once, we won’t have ability to customize the servings.
How many calories are in this meal?
I have no idea, but trust me, it’s not on anyone’s diet program.
Is any of this gluten free?
Because Stella’s is a “fresh, from scratch” restaurant, we have a great gluten free menu. This meal is no exception. The last course, dessert, cannot be made gluten free.
Are tickets transferable?
Yes. They make a great gift or thank you to someone important.
Are tickets refundable?
The simple answer is no, but we will make every effort to make your tickets available to others that have expressed an interest in attending the dinner. We really prefer a full house.
What should I wear?
There is no dress code, but we suggest at least comfortable business casual.
Are cell phones allowed?
Cell phones are great for taking pictures of great looking food, checking-in on facebook, texting friends to let them know what they’re missing, etc. All we ask is that ringers are turned down, and phone calls are taken out of the room.
Can children attend the dinner?
Yes, but it’s important to note that they will be expected to pay full price for their seat and be closely monitored by a parent or guardian.
Is the beverage pairing “all you can drink”?
No. In fact, the beverage portions will be smaller due to the number of courses. Most people would need help walking out the door after seven full sized glasses of wine (roughly a bottle and a half).
Can I request a certain table in the dining room?
If you have a table preference, please let us know. We can’t guarantee someone hasn’t already claimed the one you requested, but we will try to get you the next best table.
What if I can’t be there right at 6:30?
Dinner service will begin promptly at 6:45. You can show up late, but you will miss any courses served prior to your arrival. Also, if you leave early, you may miss some of the later courses. Sorry, we can’t pack anything to go since the courses are plated just prior to serving.
When will the last course be served?
It’s hard to say for sure, but we are expecting the last course to be served about 8:30. We suggest planning to be at Stella’s until around 9:00.
Why Monday?
We aren’t normally open on Mondays. We chose Monday so we could focus 100% of our attention on serving you the best meal we can.
How can I get more details on the event?
Call Max, on his cell phone, at 651-261-1134. If he doesn’t answer, leave a message, He’ll get back to you.
